Assessment of distance-based multi-attribute group decision-making methods from a maintenance strategy perspective

Maintenance has been acknowledged by industrial management as a significant influencing factor of plant performance. Effective plant maintenance can be realized by developing a proper maintenance strategy. Qualitative Decision Methods for Multi-Attribute Decision Making

The fundamental problem underlying all multi-criteria decision analysis (MCDA) problems is that of dominance between any two alternatives: ‘Given two alternatives A and B, each described by a set criteria, is A preferred to B with respect to a set of decision maker (DM) preferences over the criteria?’. Depending on the application in which MCDA is performed, the alternatives may represent strat...

Multi-attribute group decision making using combined ranking value under interval type-2 fuzzy environment

In this paper, we investigate a new method to handle multiple attribute group decision making (MAGDM) problems based on combined ranking value under interval type-2 fuzzy environment, in which all the attribute values provided by experts take the form of interval type-2 fuzzy sets (IT2FSs). We first introduce some basic concepts and related operational laws on IT2FSs. Then, we put forward three...

Using Orders of Magnitude in Multi-attribute Decision-making

This paper presents a method for evaluating qualitative orders of magnitude information in multi-attribute decision-making. It allows the selection of an alternative from among a set of alternatives. These are characterized by having all descriptors defined in orders of magnitude. A representation for the different alternatives by means of k-dimensional labels is proposed, each of these standin...
